Who is ORNATA?

ORNATA was founded by two artists with over 20 years of experience in print design for world-renowned brands. We created ORNATA to share our passion for beautiful, artistic wallpaper designs that transform everyday spaces.

What wallpaper types do you offer?

We offer three premium wallpaper types:

  • Peel & Stick Vinyl - Self-adhesive, removable, perfect for renters and DIY enthusiasts
  • LUXE Traditional - Non-woven wallpaper with paste-the-wall application for a premium, long-lasting finish
  • LUXE Peel & Stick - Premium non-woven material with self-adhesive backing, combining luxury quality with easy installation

Where are your products manufactured?

All ORNATA wallpapers are produced in the United States.

What's the difference between your wallpaper types?

  • Peel & Stick Vinyl: Affordable, easy to install and remove, smooth finish, ideal for temporary applications or renters
  • LUXE Traditional: Non-woven fabric material, requires wallpaper paste, most durable and long-lasting, breathable to resist mold
  • LUXE Peel & Stick: Premium non-woven material with self-adhesive backing, combines durability of traditional with convenience of peel & stick

Installation & Removal

How do I install ORNATA wallpaper?

What surfaces can I apply wallpaper to?

We recommend smooth, clean wall surfaces for best results. Our wallpaper can work on lightly textured walls if properly primed.

Best surfaces:

  • Painted drywall (fully cured, 4-6 weeks after painting)
  • Smooth plaster
  • Primed surfaces

Avoid:

  • Heavily textured walls
  • Bare, unsealed drywall
  • Areas with constant moisture (showers)

We highly recommend ordering a sample to test compatibility with your specific wall surface.

Do I need to prime my walls?

Priming is recommended for textured walls, dark colors, freshly painted walls, and porous surfaces. See our Guides & Resources for detailed preparation instructions.

How do I remove ORNATA wallpaper?

Removal methods vary by wallpaper type. Peel & Stick options remove cleanly by peeling from top to bottom. LUXE Traditional strips off in full sheets when properly installed.

Will removing wallpaper damage my walls?

When properly installed on fully cured paint and removed correctly, our wallpaper should not damage walls. If paint comes off, it typically indicates the paint wasn't fully adhered. See our Guides & Resources page for proper removal techniques.


Samples

Why should I order a sample?

We always recommend ordering samples before committing to full rolls:

  • Test wall compatibility and adhesion
  • See true colors in your lighting
  • Feel the material quality and texture
  • Practice installation on a small scale

Samples help prevent costly mistakes and ensure you're completely happy with your choice.

How do I order samples?

Durability & Care

How long will ORNATA wallpaper last?

With proper installation and care:

  • Peel & Stick Vinyl: 3-5+ years
  • LUXE Traditional: 10-15 years
  • LUXE Peel & Stick: 5-7+ years

Lifespan depends on wall preparation, installation quality, environmental conditions, and maintenance.

Can I use wallpaper in kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes, with proper ventilation. Not recommended for shower walls or areas with direct water contact. LUXE Traditional and LUXE Peel & Stick are more breathable and mold-resistant than vinyl.

How do I clean my wallpaper?

Dust regularly with a soft cloth. For marks, blot with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive water.

Will sunlight fade my wallpaper?

Direct sunlight can cause fading over time. Use curtains or blinds to minimize exposure. All our wallpapers have good fade resistance, but no material is immune to UV damage.


Ordering & Shipping

How do I know how much wallpaper to order?

Measure your wall height and width, calculate square footage, account for pattern repeat, and order 10-15% extra for waste and future repairs.

Can I cancel or edit my order?

Each ORNATA order is custom-produced and enters production immediately after submission. We cannot guarantee that cancellation or edit requests can be completed.

Contact us immediately at hola@ornatacollective.com if you need to cancel or modify your order. We'll do our best if production hasn't started.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Production time: 2 business days (custom-printed to your dimensions)

Shipping time: Orders: 2 days / Samples: 5-7 days.

Total delivery time: Production time (2 days) + shipping

You'll receive tracking via email when your order ships. During sales or peak periods, production times may be extended.


Common Issues

What if I make a mistake during installation?

Peel & Stick wallpapers are repositionable during installation. LUXE Traditional can be adjusted while paste is wet.

What if I run out of wallpaper or need more panels?

Because each panel is part of a pattern sequence, it is best to contact us at hola@ornatacollective.com with your order number and panel details so that we can creat a custom order to match your installation.

What if my wallpaper arrives damaged?

Take photos of damage (packaging and product) and contact us immediately at hola@ornatacollective.com within 14 days of delivery. Include your order number. We'll resolve the issue with a replacement or refund.

What if the color doesn't match my sample?

If your wallpaper color is significantly different from your sample, contact us within 14 days at hola@ornatacollective.com with photos and your order number.


Returns & Exchanges

What is your return policy?

Due to the custom, made-to-order nature of our wallpaper, we do not accept returns except for:

  • Defective products
  • Damaged products
  • Incorrect orders (our error)

Can I return wallpaper if I ordered the wrong amount?

No, because wallpaper is custom-produced to your specifications. We strongly recommend carefully measuring your space and ordering samples first.
